Hair Cuttery - Price Policy Review from Crest Hill, Illinois

I am a full time hair stylist have been with them for 4 years. Yes there maybe a lot of people who truly don't know much about what they do when it comes to hair. But unfortunately hair cuttery is looked at as a place that is cheaper than "all other salons" which yes it is BUT that certainly does NOT exclude ADDITIONAL CHARGES such as a toner charge so highlights don't look ridiculously brassy or whatever the case maybe. Or LONG hair charge. I am taking the time out of my day to fully do my job giving each client what they want but it decomes a problem when those charges are applied. That's just like someone going for an oil change n asking for the best grade of oil but you only wanna pay the price of the cheapest one. Sure their maybe people who OVER charge but if it's done right the first time WITH A PROPER consultation then really there is nothing to *** about!

Hair Cuttery - Hair Coloring Review from Lombard, Illinois

Same thing with me. I had a 2:15 appt.

I just wanted the 79.oo partial pkg. They assigned me Allision. I showed her a pic of exactly what I wanted. I already have blonde hair.

I just wanted golden brown lowlights. All she did was roll pieces of my blonde hair in foil and applied a over color to the rest of my hair. Suddenly price went to $120.00. She called it a double process.what double process?????

My hair was already blonde. She did not put that in. She hardly put any foils in. The she tells me "I am a master colorist my prices are higher" They have a board with listed.prices, it say NOTHING on the board saying depends on stylist.

Anyway I had a haircut included in the package. I only got a small trim . So now it 5:15 and I am picking up my granson from practice at 6:00. The stylist next to us was botching up this girls highlighting job so bad.

Allison just dropped the hair dryer and went to help her. Just left me sitting in the chair. I figured maybe a short two minutes over there. When I saw her put on dye gloves and said she would go in the back and mix blonde dye and apply it cause this moran stylist got dark dye al over this womens blonde hair it was drippings down her face.

I told her I have to leave it was 5:40. I said since I didnt get the blow dry would I get something off. THIS IS WHAT REALLY PISSED ME OFF. AS I WAS LEAVING SHE SAID TO ME...YOU SAID kinda snotty.YOU WERE IN NO HURRY.ARE U KIDDINH ME I BEEN THERE SINCE 2:15 WITH A APPOINTMENT.

It SHOULD NOT TAKE 3.5 HOURS TO PUT 7 PIECES OF MY ALREADY BLONDE HAIR IN FOIL AND APPLY A ALL OVER COLOR

AROUND THE FOIL. The brown color she gave me was NOT a golden brown. Its a dark drap brown. MASTER COLOR STYLIST MY ***.Nothing like the pic.

I understand poor girl in the chair next to issues. They should of had the manager help her. Second if this stylist cant to a simple foil highlight .SHE NEEDS TO GO BACK TO BEAUTY SCHOOL. I notice she talked way to much and should of been paying attention.

I even heard Allison say to her to get that color on and finished they are timed.

WHO IS SHE TO DECIDE IF MY TIME IS BUSY OR NOT.I not sitting there until 7:00 waiting to get my hair dried while she's helping someone else. I will be calling the corporate office.

Hair Cuttery - Hair Highlighting Review from Baltimore, Maryland
My stylist brushed my hair very hard, pulled my hair out in the process, hit my earrings repetitively and was aware of this, ripped the backing off my ear which I then had to find on the floor and tried a new technique of highlighting my hair which does not look good and the hair is almost orange!

Hair Cuttery - Hair Coloring Review from Lowell, Massachusetts

A couple months ago I went to the Hair Cuttery I usually go to and explained what I wanted. I was told it was called dual dimension, which I actually liked except for the back which was patchy with red tones. It took 2 additional trips to be an acceptable color. Recently I returned for a touch up. I explained to the new stylist what I was looking for and although she did a nice job, the next day I realized I wanted the highlights to be more noticeable. I want back & saw my usual stylist, explained, and was happy to pay for another foil with lighter highlights. Once again, the next day I was disappointed when I noticed my overall hair looked a little lighter but could barely tell there were highlights. My family didn't even notice a change. I want back; third time in as many days, and they refused to do anything as my hair was too distressed to handle more. Two weeks later when my hair was in better shape I returned, as recommended. This time I showed a picture of what I wanted. "I want the highlights to be extremely noticeable as in the pic. After spending another afternoon in the chair, My roots looked better, but nothing was done to the highlights at all and I was charged $45. Once again, no one noticed any difference! 3 trips to salon in 3 weeks, a total of 8 hers and $250.00 later, I still don't look any different. I will not go back!!!

BAD HAIR CUT IN 3 MINUTES

WORSE HAIR CUT EVERY TIME I HAVE BEEN, DIFFERENT LOCATIONS, MORE INTERESTED IN BOOKING ANOTHER WALKIN OR ANSWERING PHONE THAN MY $16 CUT. DO NOT RECOMMEND. THE LAST WAS NOT CLEAN NOR HOSPITABLE. I ASKED PRIOR TO BEGINNING TO TRIM THE EYEBROWS, STRAIGHTEN THE LENGTH ALL AROUND, SQUARE THE BACK, OF WHICH HALF WAS DONE. THERE WAS NO BRUSH USED TO REMOVE THE CUT HAIR AT ANY TIME, ESPECIALLY ON THE NECK WHEN THEY SAID I WAS DONE. HAIR ON THE EARS WERE NOT EVEN ATTEMPTED TO CUT. I WAS TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE TYPE OF WORK AND CONDITION OF THIS LOCATION.

Horrible hair cut

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I went in to Hair Cutter for a medium fade. Which I would say is about the easiest hair cut ever. They couldnt have messed up worse. There were spots on my head that were lower than others, they didn't cut the hair behind my ears and they didn't even bother to brush the hair off my face. This company needs to hire people who can cut men's hair, and if they cannot then they need to state that they cannot do a certain cut. They are unprofessional. The stylist threw a fit when I didn't leave a tip for her mangled haircut that she gave me. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

You presume it's the easiest cut? I didn't realize you spent $22,000 on your cosmetology education and have a license. If it's that easy of a haircut, then do it yourself, brat.

Prices/senior citizen discount

I have been going to Hair cuttery in NE.Phila, for about 4-5-years.My stylist worked 3 days a week, then got a full time job, with the city,so just worked at shop on Saturdays,I had a discount card for 20% off,on services over $20.00.She retired,& I started last week with another stylist(who did my hair a few times)& was happy with her.I had my hair already washed,so I just needed it wet, blow dryed & curling iron.My hair is short, did not get haircut. My bill was $24.00,when I gave her Senior Citizen discount card, she said we do not accept them anymore,I'm on a fixed income, I cannot afford $24.00 plus a $5.00 tip(which I always gave)for just styling, and defineatly can not afford to get it cut every 2-3 weeks.I would like to know why they stopped the discount program & raised prices? There are so many shops opening up with $8.00 hair cuts, plus a couple of dollars for blow dry&curling iron.I am sorry to say,I'm going to stop going to Hair Cuttery, unless they change their policy.

The discount would help me get my hair cut more then once every 4 months. It's not easy to pay 20.00 plus dollars on a fixed income. I like my stylist, just the prices, not fair!

Guest

jcfj Ive noticed signs going up at my local hair cuttery. They are now charging 4.00 for a scalp massage.

Didn't realize until the last time that I had always gotten a scalp massage. Now I just get the product put on a little scrub and then sit for 5 minutes.

I agree they should continue with the discounts.

Guest

I was a district manager for Hair Cuttery and they DID stop doing the senior discount. They actually stopped it YEARS ago.

At least they did in Maryland. So thank your old stylist for risking her job by continuing to give you a discounted price that could have cost her her job just to keep your business and keep you happy.

WHAT IS YOUR CUT IN PAY? i UNDERSTAND YOUR NOT WANTING TO LOSE PAY...QUITE UNDERSTANDABLE.

IT'S THE COMPANY THAT SHOULD NOT PENALIZE YOU FOR TAKING A LITTLE LONGER WITH THE FEW SENIORS WHO MAY SLOW YOU DOWN... THERE ARE A GREAT NUMBER OF SENIORS NOW WHO ARE HEALTHIER AND LIVE LONGER AND CAN MOVE LIKE A NORMAL PERSON.

I HAVE BEEN IN HAIR CUTTERY WITH 16 CHAIRS AND 2 CUSTOMERS. THE COMPLAINTS ARE WITH THE COMPANY NOT THE STYLISTS.

Guest

im a stylist at hair cuttery in the philadelphia area.. at our salon we take coupons and are told they do not expire..

as far as i know this is a company wide policy. the only reason i can think of why she lied to you, is because it's money coming from her paycheck..

but this does not make it right. you should call cooperate and get a refund

Guest

If you are on a limited income you shouldn't be getting your hair cut every two-three weeks and then then have it styled in between. I know a lot of people, as well as myself, on limited/fixed incomes and we all only get haircuts every four-eight weeks.

We all tend to styling our hair ourselves every day in between hair cuts. Due to the fact that I have bad shoulders I just use what I refer to as a drip dry style. Some of the people that I know do blow dry and use a curling iron. Even most of the more well to do people that I know don't get their hair cut as often as you do and they only get their hair styled for special occasions.

i really think should drop the POOR little old me card, and start doing your own styling.

Partial head - Highlights

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Since when does 12 foils mean partial head when a full head is the whole head so what that means you get 24 foils ? I recently had a partial.. and it doesn't even look like i got highlights... you can not offer partial highlights then say its only 12 foils you need to be straight up and tell them that its only 12 foils... I mean really and for $50??? that to me is a rip off... never will i ever get a partial again... I wanted the highlights to accent my face since my hair is darker now i wanted that accent. but not with 12 foils... it was never just 12 foils cause i have had partials done there before.. well i'm not disappointed with the stylist because she did a great job...

Partial high lights does not necessarily mean half the head. Therefore a full head is not limited to 24 foils.

Partials are 12 point blank. You can do 12 fouls around your face, on your crown or on the nape of your neck. But it's only 12. When we charge a full highlight there is no limit to the amount of foils.

We can do 100 foils if necessary. If you wanted more then you should have told the stylist and if you don't like the price go somewhere else we are non negotiable.

Assaulted by Co-Worker

I am quite fed up from working for this company. I have been at Hair Cuttery for three years. We hired a new employee as a basic stylist who had happened to have been a manager for Regis Corporation. Well after a few months of working at our location the company decided to offer her a management position at a different location in our area. Apparently this stylist was complaining about the training she was receiving from our manager. She was saying that our manager was ridiculous and didn't deserve her position. I was not there when she said this but another employee texted me while this was going on. I texted her back when I saw the message on my phone saying simply that the one certain stylist should not be talking bad behind our manager's back when she, herself, was to become one. Apparently she looked at this girl's phone and saw my response. The next day she came fuming at me and the other stylist cursing me up and down. At one point she got in my face and told me "Don't you even *** with me". I asked her several times to calm down and lower her voice. This did not happen. She repeatedly continued to yell vulgarities at me and eventually I walked away. The next day I was coming out of the break room and she shoved me. I then hit the corner of one of our stations. When I got home I noticed that I had a bruise/cut on my leg. I took several photos and documented everything that had happened. I contacted my manager about the issue, and, even though this all stemmed from me sticking up for her, she told me that there was nothing she could do because it was a "he said she said" situation. I gave her my documentation and she told me that our District Leader would be getting in touch with me shortly. Well, two months went by and I received no contact from her whatsoever. Then, our District Leader came to our salon because she had to do our yearly compliance meeting. This meeting basically consisted of discrimination, harassment, hostile work environments, etc. So when the videos and the meeting were over I pulled the District Leader aside and asked her what her final decision/thought was of the documentation I had typed up about the incident. She would not look at me in the face and started stammering. I then repeated the question. She told me that she could not help me due to it being a "he said she said" situation. As she was saying this to me she was walking away. I said "wait I really need to talk to you this is serious, I was verbally and physically attacked and I do not feel comfortable working here". She then said to me that nothing was going to happen to me because the stylist who had attacked me had been promoted as manager to a different salon. She then was walking away from me with me following her trying to finish the conversation. I gave up because she was ignoring me and trying to create a conversation with other stylists in the salon so that she would have a reason not to address me. I am absolutely livid at this mess of a situation. Is this what I am worth to Ratner company's? I feel like a scrap of meat. How was this stylist promoted to a management position? The company did not follow proper protocol because nothing was ever investigated! I was not once contacted to ask if I was alright, or to even be interviewed about the situation!!! A lot of crimes happen and there are no witnesses and I understand that....but to not even investigate? And downright ignore me right after I sat through a hour and a half video about their so called "Fair and Equal Treatment" policy.

Okay after a good night sleep, I am not angry anymore. There are other promotions.

I doubt the employee I am accusing these things of is reading this, but yeah we have our difference, however I am sorry I made all this up about you. I still don't think we can ever be friends though.

Okay now I am really angry Kevin from UK, I have written a review to my president Barrack Obama regarding you harassing me online and we are going to do a Military attack against United Kingdom. Hope your queen/king and prime minister blame you for this.

You posted this like an hour ago. I doubt they had time to see the review.

It is like 12am where you supposedly live Rachel from Chicago Illinois. I doubt their offices are open to even cover this up. This thing has IP tracking so it knows where you are posting from genius. You are trolling, nice one there, though.

I seriously doubt the company saw this in the house you posted this review.

Besides no witnesses you are the only one who supposedly was attacked by this psycho. You are either trolling or making this up.

In other words Rachel from Chicago Illinois tell us another interesting story.

Also more proof that they are covering this up, they know my name, I don't know how but they found out my name and state. They know who I am and are trying to cover it up, I have been working for this company for ten years as I stated in my review and this is how they treat me.

I never bribed anyone to lie about her, they saw her attack me and she threatened to kill them if they were a witness for me. Okay I am making this up but it is kind of fun now, especially since this *** cannot sue me since I did not give any names.

I don't care if they fire me. I can find another job.

Guest

WOW! But not WOW service!!!! :P

Guest

obviously what is happening is that the company has seen this and is now trying to cover this incident up by pretending to be the person who posted this. clever. NOT.

Guest

also I am not Rachel and I am not from Chicago, I am not even from usa, not even in north America so don`t know why the location says Chicago.

Look I posted this out of anger and was not thinking, I admit none of this is true. I made a mistake, how do I get rid of this review.

I was dumb when I posted this, dumb and angry.

I want to know how to delete this review.

Hair Cuttery - Unprofessional Hairstylist Review

Went in for ombre color and cut. Stylist informed me that it would be $144. I was already in the chair so I went through with it. 3 hours later and my hair still wasn't cut. I have no style and the rocket red is more like a pumpkin spice. I had to go because she was entirely too slow. Almost like she was unsure of herself. I did not realize that I would be leaving with my hair wet after spending most of my day there. Well, you hair has no style and color is trashy. To top it off she got dye all over my brand new Victorias secret tank top. Never again. I called the district manager because I want to be compensated.

Hair Cuttery - Unprovided Insurance Review from Broadway, Virginia

My daughter works for Hair Cuttery 10 years now. She was a Master Stylist before her car accident caused by a drunk driver who was a illegal immigrant. She had the free insurance that the company offers. Three years later working 2 sometimes 3 days a week down from 6 days Hair Cuttery wants their money back for the insurance they paid out for hospital bills because she might get a little money from the accident (175,000.00 before lawyers get their cut and other expenses). Her total bills are over 1 million dollars and her life completely changed. She will never be able to the hours she use to. She has a son that she takes care of also who is 8 years old now. They lost her in the ER three times that night, so it's a miracle she is with us today. Some of the salons did donation jars for her and when they turned them in to the main office to be given to her Ratner took taxes out of the money before giving it to her. And they call this a family company.

Your little daughter should be doing her own complaining. It doesn't matter who was at fault for the accident she was involved in, it also is inconsequential that the driver was drunk and an illegal immigrant.

All that does is take away from the original complaint. Do you think about the fact that the other driver has to live with that thought for the rest of his life? It also doesn't matter that she has an eight year old son to support. Actually the fact that they lost her three times in the ER doesn't really have anything to do with this complaint.

Be thankful that she survived. I would be willing to bet when your daughter gets the settlement, she has no intentions of applying it towards her medical bills. Several years ago my husband was rear ended by a drunk driver, who had no insurance, no driver's license, and it was one of numerous DUIs that the man had. He ended up serving time in the state pen, and our car insurance company put a lien against any inheritance that the man might ever receive---while the man was in the pen, his Dad passed away leaving the son $10,000 which our automotive insurance received to pay them back for repairing our car, and after their expenses were covered we were given the balance.

If there is money involved, you can bet the insurance company will want to be reimbursed. It isn't Hair Cuttery themselves that want the money, it is the insurance company, whichever company it was. The company taking taxes out of the donation jars, isn't any different than a lot of restaurants taking taxes out of the server's tips. It is the same difference.

Your daughter should be getting child support for her son, and more than likely is on some form of disability being she is only working 2-3 days a week, if she isn't that would mean she has too much income from something. Also all hospitals have a department set up to help people with their bills, not just to make monthly payments, but to get parts of it written off. Also all counties have a county welfare office that will help with some medical expenses. I would be interested in knowing where that $175,000 might be coming from IF the other driver was an illegal alien.

You can bet he didn't have that kind of money. It is only fair if she gets that settlement that he insurance company be paid back.
